The community colleges in Pennsylvania are required to implement PACE policies and procedures, which serve as an important way of providing the public access to transfer information. The PACE is a statewide, electronic transfer database that allows students to view their approved programs, transfer credits, and seek advice on college- and career-related issues. You can locate the PACE website by going to pasde.org and clicking on "What's New" and then selecting PACE.
The college's transfer policies and procedures enable students to obtain transfer information, including their transfer credit evaluation, appraisal, and accrued transfer credits. Also, the college's transfer policies and procedures reflect the standards agreed to by the community colleges and State System institutions and recommend procedures that ensure the transfer of approved credit. Through the transfer policies, the college seeks to ensure that students have meaningful and effective access to support services available to them by their home institution or Transfer Admission Program, and to ensure that students can transfer and successfully complete their degrees.
In response to the federal requirements, the PACE has designed a chair of transfer and articulation that coordinates all 72 participating community colleges in the state and creates a unified statewide transfer policy. Allen College has been and continues to serve as the coordinating center, providing a resource and communication center for the 72 community colleges.
